Abstract

The article analyzes and reveals the possibilities of the project method in the vocational training of specialists at
colleges. Peculiarities of the project technology implementation in vocational education are investigated.
The purpose of the article was to analyze and disclose the possibilities of the project method to ensure the
effectiveness and efficiency of the educational process at colleges. In the process of scientific research we used
such research methods as analysis, comparative analysis, synthesis, systematization, generalization.
The approaches of a number of scientists to the interpretation of the definition "project method" and
approaches to the classification of projects are analyzed. The stages of organization and realization of the project
technology in practical activity are investigated and analyzed. The tasks that can be solved in the educational
process of a vocational education institution (college) by introducing the project technology are revealed. A number
of contradictions that can be overcome in vocational education institutions by introducing the project technology
have been identified and analyzed.
The advantages of implementing the project method along with traditional learning technologies are
investigated. The following types of projects are analyzed: research, information, creative, information and
communication, applied. The properties of the project method as a holistic educational technology are singled
out and revealed.
Possibilities of applying the project method when teaching the discipline "Mathematics (Algebra and the
Beginnings of the Analysis and Geometry)" to the 1st
- and 2nd-year college students are investigated. Possibilities of
using information and communication technologies (a smartphone, a tablet) with the corresponding software for
implementing the project technology in the disciplines of the mathematical cycle are revealed. The plan of introducing
the project method in the educational process at colleges (general theoretical material, problem statement,
consultations, independent work on a problem, project realization, assessment of a final product) is characterized. The
positive aspects and shortcomings of the project technology implementation at colleges are analyzed.
A number of functions performed by the project technology in vocational education (educational, cognitive,
developmental, emotional-motivational) are singled out and studied. The goals of the project technology
implementation (narrow methodological, profession-oriented, motivational, creative) are singled out and analyzed.
