Abstract
The article considers the problem of profession-oriented formation of mathematical models
of electrical devices for the industrial equipment of the machine-building field. Based on the analysis
of the literature sources on electrical engineering training of engineers of non-electric specialties, the
importance of a professionally oriented approach to the construction of abstract objects of the
technical theory is substantiated. The paper provides the resulted classification of the objects of the
subject area which implies ordering elements in groups in accordance with particular features. A
characteristic feature of each group is the parameter for which this element was created, or the
parameter that is the main one in most cases of practical application of the real physical element. The
authors offer a concept of forming models of electrical devices for industrial equipment. It is shown
that in order to take into account the properties of an element under real conditions, it is necessary to
refine the structure of the model and the composition of idealized elements that represent it
depending on operating conditions, power source characteristics and operating modes.
