Abstract
The article considers the relevance, characteristics, components and structural elements of the model for improving the development of managerial competence of the head of a department, analyzes and presents some key terms, such as competence model and competence, taking into account the basic principles and rules which must be adhered to when drawing up a competency model that will ensure successful development and implementation of a new model.
The suggested stages of the model development (the first stage is the analysis of the scientific-pedagogical worker and the position that he or she holds; the second phase is the analysis and processing of the received data concerning the development strategy of the educational institution; the third stage is the preparation of post description; the fourth phase is the development of a model of competences, with a necessary description of each competence, as well as the definition of positive and negative behavioral indicators). It is recommended to consider not only principles, rules and stages, but also to implement and systematize HR procedures, creating a single approach to recruitment, promotion and motivation of key employees).
The model of improving the development of managerial competences of the head of a department consists of four main components (theoretical and methodological; practical-cognitive; organizational and technological; professional and personal) and their structural elements (aggregate managerial knowledge; educational process through advanced training; managerial activities of the head of a department; professional and personal qualities of the head of a department) that allows their systematic, focused, logical and consistent application in management.
