Theoretical aspects of military service members’ political competence formation: historical aspect

Abstract

The paper considers the theoretical aspects of the formation of political competence among military service members and gives an example of the historical experience of the development of relations between the army and the state. Political competence is analyzed in the context of professional competence. The problem of the development of professional competence is considered.

The main components of political competence are analyzed. A structure of political competence is formed. The problem of the significance of political competence for military personnel is considered. The results of the study enable to draw conclusions about the importance of further improvement of political competence of cadets. The necessity of further scientific and theoretical substantiation of the development of the problem of cadets’ political competence is noted. The emphasis is placed on the need to conduct research to determine the level of cadets’ political competence, as well as to provide suggestions to the administration of military institutions in Ukraine to improve the quality of education.
